Trefl Sopot secured their second victory of the 2024/2025 ORLEN Basket League season by defeating PGE Spójnia Stargard 83-78 in a closely contested match.
Strong Start, but Spójnia Fights Back
The reigning champions started strong, hitting three consecutive three-pointers to lead 11-3. However, Spójnia found their rhythm, taking control by the end of the first quarter with a 24-20 advantage. Despite closing the first half tied at 44-44, Spójnia’s resilient defense kept them in the game.
Decisive Fourth Quarter
In the final quarter, both teams traded points, but a key block by Andy Phillip and clutch three-pointers from Tarik Phillip pushed Trefl ahead. Despite late pressure from Spójnia, Trefl held on, sealing the win with crucial free throws from Phillip, who finished with 21 points.
