PGE Ekstraliga Grand Final Postponed Due to Weather Forecast

Bartosz Zmarzlik: Racing to Glory

The much-anticipated 2024 PGE Ekstraliga Grand Final has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions forecasted for Saturday, October 5th. Based on predictions from several weather portals, heavy rain is expected during the event, which could severely impact the quality and safety of the race. In agreement with the participating clubs, Speedway Lublin SA and WTS SA, the event has been rescheduled for Monday, October 7th at 7:15 PM.

Decision to Postpone Based on Safety Concerns

The decision to delay the final was not made lightly, but the potential rain posed significant risks for the event. Ekstraliga Żużlowa President Wojciech Stępniewski emphasized the importance of ensuring a full 15-race final for both the integrity of the competition and the enjoyment of the fans. He stated, „We cannot risk a situation where rain disrupts the event, especially for such an important final.”

Rescheduling to Ensure Optimal Conditions

Both clubs support the decision, stressing that the final deserves to be held under the best possible conditions for both riders and spectators. Jakub Kępa, President of Speedway Lublin SA, highlighted the logistical and sporting challenges involved, while Andrzej Rusko, President of WTS SA, added that fan experience and fairness in the competition are top priorities.

The final will now take place on October 7th, ensuring a thrilling and uninterrupted conclusion to the season.
