Magda Linette Ends Partnership with Coach Iain Hughes

Magda Linette has officially announced the end of her coaching partnership with Iain Hughes after two and a half years of collaboration. Hughes, who previously worked with top players like Andy Murray and Elina Svitolina, was a key figure in Linette’s team, contributing to her impressive results, including a semifinal run at the 2023 Australian Open.

A Grateful Farewell

Linette took to social media to express her gratitude for Hughes’ support and guidance during their time together. „Every journey must come to an end… Iain, thank you for these incredible 2.5 years! Working with you has been an honor, and you will always be part of my family,” Linette wrote. She praised Hughes for his calming influence and the balance he brought to her team, complementing her main coach, Mark Gellard.

Future Plans Unclear

At this time, Linette has not yet revealed whether she plans to hire a new coach to replace Hughes. While she initially planned to compete in the Guangzhou Open starting on October 21, the Polish player ultimately withdrew from the tournament. Fans will be eager to see how Linette’s team evolves in the coming months as she looks to build on her recent successes.
