Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will play their home matches in the CEV Champions League at the ArcelorMittal Park in Sosnowiec, starting on November 13th. This is the second time in the club’s history that they will compete in Europe’s top volleyball competition, after securing the Polish runner-up title in April. Since their home arena in Zawiercie does not meet CEV requirements, the team will once again use the Sosnowiec venue, which can hold 3,050 spectators.
Familiar Ground for Zawiercie
Club president Kryspin Baran expressed his excitement about returning to Sosnowiec, stating that the team felt at home there last season during their CEV Cup matches. The state-of-the-art arena opened in 2023 and has since become a prominent venue for volleyball in Poland. Fans can look forward to three home games in the group stage, including matchups against opponents from Austria, Belgium, and Italy.
Ticket Sales and Match Schedule
Ticket sales for the first home match will begin next Tuesday, with priority given to season ticket holders for PlusLiga. Open sales will follow, and fans are encouraged to secure their seats early for what promises to be an exciting Champions League campaign.
The team’s group stage home matches are scheduled for:
- November 13, 2024 vs Hypo Tirol Innsbruck/Orion Stars
- December 18, 2024 vs Knack Roeselare
