Magda Linette’s run at the WTA Ningbo tournament came to an abrupt end as she was defeated by Czech player Katerina Siniakova 6-2, 6-4 in the first round.
A Quick Exit for Linette
Despite recent success, including reaching the quarterfinals in Wuhan and a strong showing in Beijing, Linette struggled in her opening match in Ningbo. The Polish player had difficulties with her serve, especially in the first set where she failed to win a single service game, allowing Siniakova to take the lead.
Siniakova Seals the Victory
Linette put up more resistance in the second set, but two key breaks of serve ultimately decided the match. After just 80 minutes on court, Siniakova secured the win, sending Linette out of the tournament.
