Renault to Withdraw from Formula 1 Engine Supply by 2026

Verstappen Triumphs in Thrilling Canadian Grand Prix

Renault has officially announced that it will no longer supply engines for Formula 1 teams starting from the 2026 season. The decision confirms earlier speculations about the French automaker’s future in the sport. However, its factory team, Alpine, will remain in competition, potentially switching to Mercedes power units.

End of an Era for Renault in F1

Renault’s exit marks the end of a significant chapter in Formula 1 history. The company has been involved in the sport since 1977, achieving immense success with 12 Constructors’ Championships and 11 Drivers’ Championships. Their engines powered Sebastian Vettel to his four consecutive titles with Red Bull Racing from 2010 to 2013.

Alpine’s Future in F1

While Renault will no longer be involved as an engine supplier, Alpine is expected to continue competing in F1, likely using Mercedes engines. This shift reflects ongoing changes within the sport as teams adapt to new regulations and power unit requirements set for 2026.
