Robert Kubica’s Orlen Team AO by TF finished in fifth place during the latest round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at Mugello Circuit in Italy. Despite strong efforts by Kubica and his teammates, the team couldn’t secure a podium finish, but remains the leader in the overall LMP2 standings.

Solid Start but Missed Podium

Orlen Team AO by TF, consisting of Robert Kubica, Louis Deletraz, and Jonny Edgar, aimed for a top finish after their previous victory at Spa-Francorchamps. Edgar began the race, followed by Kubica, who moved the team into fourth place. With Deletraz behind the wheel, there was hope for a podium, but the team eventually dropped to fifth after being overtaken by Panis Racing. The race was won by Iron Lynx, with Algarve Pro Racing and Inter Europol Competition completing the podium.

Kubica’s Performance and Team Standings

Although the Mugello race didn’t go as planned, Kubica played a crucial role in helping his team maintain the overall lead in the LMP2 class. After five rounds, Orlen Team AO by TF has 75 points, leading the standings ahead of Inter Europol Competition and Panis Racing.

Final Round in Portugal

The 2024 ELMS season will conclude in Portugal on October 19 at the Portimao Circuit.
